[Because this isn't just the hope of re-uniting with the friends who she lost so long ago. This is the hope that, in the event it's really him, Terra fought the darkness and won. He expelled Xehanort from his body and succeeded in reclaiming it.
Granted, it could be Xehanort going by a false name too...but a 50/50 chance is better than no chance at all. It's more than she could have ever hoped for.]
