It's...a surprise, dear.

[She reaches out to take a hold of Mirai's hand and then starts walking, leading her through the clinic.]

I've been working on it for a while in secret, because it's the kind of thing other people would covet. I didn't want to risk losing it.

[Eventually they reach what looks like a dead end, since there's the end of the hallway with only one door. But rather than go into the door that's visible, she approaches the wall opposite it and lays a hand on it; the sensation of magic stirring fills the area, before parts of the wall slide away and create an opening for them to pass through, much like an empty doorframe.

But they don't go in. Not yet. Lucifer continues staring forward as if the wall is still there, as f considering something, during which time her hand closes just that little bit more around Mirai's, tighter.

Not long after, she looks at her.]

I need you to promise to keep this a secret. You can't tell anyone; not even Berserker. He doesn't even know I made this room, let alone the work I was doing.

[Seeing Lucifer do secret magical things isn't strange. She's not the sort of person who's open with her dealings.

What is weird is seeing her hesitate. It's that that makes Mirai wonder how serious this really is.]

I promise.

[She knows it's going to be a difficult conversation; it means facing the reality of quite a few things she'd put to the back of her mind throughout their time here. But it has to be done, no matter what. She leads Mirai forward again by the hand through the doorway she'd made, and everything just...shifts entirely, to something that looks out of place entirely, even in the drabwurld.

The floor itself ripples like liquid with every step they take, yet it's completely solid ground. Even so, the entire space they're in now...it's familiar. Not familiar as Makai or any other spiritual realm, familiar in that this entire space - even the air - feels entirely like Lucifer's own magic. It permeates every part of the room. Once they're inside, she releases Mirai's hand and steps into the center of the room - the door behind them seals itself up as she does.

The floor itself is littered with materials; mainly, gems of all kinds. Some crushed, some shattered, and if she doesn't want to think too hard about Lucifer putting entire worlds at risk, then she might not want to think too hard about how a handful of them resemble shards likely taken from people in the opposite court...

Fortunately, there isn't too much time to dwell on it. She finally speaks again after a moment, and her voice has a demonic trill to it.]

The war is nearing it's conclusion. With the end, should the Seelie be victorious, then the cycle of rebirth and destruction will continue; all life will end. It will spare no man, woman or child. No angel, no demon...even the gods will fall for good. With nothing to sustain it, so too will The Great Will finally perish.

But that emptiness will last only for a moment. In an instant, entirely new worlds will be brought forth. Life will flourish and so too will gods rise yet again, foreign even to us, who have spent our lives among them.

[Mirai...kinda. But she's seen a hell of a lot of them, so she counts.]

This space will be eliminated as well...but not immediately. It's small, and the magic here is greatly concentrated; it should hold long enough to bring someone into the next life unharmed.

[Mirai doesn't want to dwell on where the shards are from - and she doesn't, too focused on the looks of the place and the feel of the magic throughout the room until her mother speaks.

She's silent throughout everything Lucifer says, until finally, she speaks softly.]

Why are you showing this to me?

[Because - surely Lucifer will use this space for herself. Lucifer's whole philosophy revolves around doing things for herself, and not only that, Lucifer is important. She is the hope for change in worlds in ways that Mirai could never be.

So why would she show such a secret to Mirai?]

Whenever the final battle does begin, I don't want you to take part. [Of course it's not the first time she's ever told Mirai to do something, but it more than likely is the first time she's told her to do something in regards to something so important and not given her some sort of choice.] You're to come here and close the door behind you.

You're...going to survive, Mirai. Into the next life. I've made sure of that.

[That's what she didn't want to hear.

Not because she doesn't want to survive - of course she does, she wants to live as much as anyone else does and no resetting worlds will change that, but -]

What will happen to you?

[She can't imagine a world without her mother. Normally a daughter would naturally outlive her parents, but Lucifer and Mirai's relationship is different from normal. Mirai is part-demon, and slow-growing, but ultimately still mortal. Lucifer is not.]
